Personally I have been in the customer service industry for pretty much all my life, and I have learned this on more than one occasion. The impact of extremely good service can make an astronomical difference in having a successful or dying business.
Having good customer service as a vantage point to your business doesn’t only end at having friendly staff, but offering honest and accurate information to your clients is a key component in customer service. Personally I have seen businesses that have nearly non existing marketing budgets, but have extremely well trained staff on soft skills and customer service that makes the client become the marketing factor by using word of mouth marketing.
There are endless in-house training programs out there that can be used to motivate your employees to achieve distinction in this sector. This technique is not a fly by night scam that will make people flood to you business within a short period of time, but more of a skill used to set a steady foundation which your business can blaze upon.
Once you staff has been trained on customer service, it doesn’t mean that you will never have to worry about sending them on training again. Having them attend programs on a fairly regular basis will keep them motivated to offer flawless customer service.
Surely concentrating on customer service is easier said than done, and yes, you might have to cross many more than one milestone in achieving excellence in the customer service industry, but it is without doubt a winning recipe to success in the long run.
